There were 111 complaints in the last 72 hours in St. Mary Parish, and the Sheriff's Office says there were four arrests.

Joseph Acosta, 23, 201 Hendricks Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on August 14, 2015 at 8:47 pm for cruelty to animals. A deputy responded to a complaint of two dogs tied to a line in a yard without food or water. Upon arrival, the deputy found that one of the dogs, who appeared to be thin, was running loose. The second dog was located chained up in the yard. The deputy observed that the emaciated animal did not have access to food, water, or shelter from the weather. Through further investigation, the deputy learned that the animal had been with its current owner for three weeks. The owner of the animal, identified as Acosta, was given a summons to appear in court on November 17, 2015.

 

Timothy Bourgeois, 47, 4193 Worthy Drive, Lake Charles, LA was arrested on August 15, 2015 at 3:13 pm for domestic abuse battery. A deputy assigned to patrol the Jeanerette area responded to a complaint of a disturbance at a residence. During the course of the investigation, the deputy determined that Bourgeois grabbed a female victim during an argument. The victim sustained scratches to her face and neck. Bourgeois was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Mong T. Duval, 29, 178 Friendship Alley, Amelia, LA was arrested on August 16, 2015 at 12:30 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of buprenorphine, possession of hydrocodone, operating a vehicle with improper stop lamps, and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy responded to a request to remove a subject from a residence in Amelia. The deputy made contact with Duval and located the active warrant for her arrest. Duval was transported to the parish jail. No bail is set.

 

Cedric Gant, 18, 1138 Grace Street, Siracusaville, LA was arrested on August 16, 2015 at 1:49 pm for disturbing the peace (fighting). A deputy responded to a complaint of a fight in progress on Grace Street near Joseph Street. Upon arrival, the deputy encountered a group of people standing on the corner of Joseph and Ciro Streets. The deputy learned that three male subjects were involved in a fight. One of the subjects, identified as Gant, was located on Grace Street. The deputy transported Gant to the parish jail. Gant was released on a $250 bond. The case remains under investigation.
