BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Eleven of the 52 men and women who applied to take the Baton Rouge police chief civil service exam have been deemed ineligible to take the March 1st test. Bryan Taylor, chairman of the civil service board, says he reviewed the applications on Wednesday and found 11 applicants did not meet the experience and educational qualifications. The board unanimously approved Taylor's decision on Thursday. The names of the applicants who did not qualify to take the test were not read at the board meeting and Taylor refused to release the names to The Advocate. Taylor said he wanted to wait to release the names until the applicants were notified by mail that they did not make the cut. Jeff LeDuff resigned as police chief on December 1st.
