Two people from St. Martin Parish are behind bars, accused of stealing a boat, motor, and trailer, after St. Martin Parish Sheriff's deputies responded to the Atchafalaya Basin Landing.

St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s deputies say 29-year-old Trey Marceaux of St. Martinville and 32-year-old Trey Cormier of Breaux bridge were arrested in the case after the stolen items were found in two different locations. They also face drug charges, along with 26-year-old Bethany Cooney of Lafayette, after deputies say they found methamphetamine while searching one of those spots.

Trey Marceaux

  • 1 count-LA. R.S. 14:69B-Illegal Possession of Stolen Things ($5,000.00-$25, 000.00)
  • 1 count-LA. R.S. 14:95E- Illegal Carrying of a Weapon
  • 1 count-LA.R.S.  40:967C-Possession of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (Methamphetamine)

He was also booked on the following two active arrest warrants previously issued by the Broussard Police Department:

  • 1 count-LA. R.S. 1463.3-Entry on or Remaining in Places or on Land after Forbidden
  • 1 count-LA. R.S. 14:67- Theft

Bethany Cooney

  • 1 count-LA. R.S. 40:967C -Possession of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (Methamphetamine)

Trey Cormier

  • 1 count-LA. R.S. 14:69B Illegal Possession of Stolen Things ($5,000.00-$25, 000.00)
  • 1 count-LA. R.S. 40:967.A (1 ct.) Distribution of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (Methamphetamine)

He was also booked on the following two active arrest warrants previously issued by the Henderson Police Department:

  • 1 count-LA. R.S. 14:67- Theft (under $1,000.00)
  • 1 count-LA. R.S. 14:72.2- Monetary Instrument Abuse

All 3 individuals have been booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the above charges.
