With the weather warming up, mosquitoes have already found their way back into our daily lives.

These 20 facts are some that you may not know. For instance, you may know that only female mosquitoes bite, but do you know WHY?

It's because they need the protein found in blood to help their eggs develop. So, essentially, your blood is the reason mosquitoes keep reproducing! It's okay, everyone's blood falls in that category too.

Mosquitoes can drink up to three times their weight in blood. You'd have to get bitten over 1 million times in order to have all of your blood drained...which doesn't seem highly unlikely in Louisiana.
