The field is set for the 2019 Sun Belt Conference Softball Championship.

The championship will utilize a single-elimination format, as well as a double-elimination format, to determine the Sun Belt Tournament champion and recipient of the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Softball Championship.

The first two games of the tournament will be a single-elimination format, before moving to a double-elimination format, beginning with Game 3, and then a one game, winner-take-all, title game.

The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns are the top-seed, after becoming just the second team in program and Sun Belt history to finish league play undefeated, joining the 2004 UL squad that went 18-0.

The Cajuns, who are currently riding a 24-game win streak, and are 47-4 on the season, are 58-9, all-time, in the event, and have won 14 of the 19 tournament titles.

Troy (37-28, 19-8) is the #2-seed, followed by 3rd-seed  UTA (29-24, 17-10), and 4th-seeded Texas State (28-23, 16-10).

Rounnding out the field, Appalachian State (31-22, 13-13) is the No. 5 seed, followed by Coastal Carolina (35-19, 13-14), Georgia Southern (23-27, 9-17), and ULM (11-40, 7-17).

Louisiana will play their first game on Thursday afternoon at 12:30 pm, against either Texas St., Appalachian St., or ULM.
