State labor officials say Louisiana added over 26-thousand jobs during 2010. Patty Granier, with the Louisiana Workforce Commission, says the additional non-farm jobs are good news for the state's continued economic recovery.  Granier says there were 26,500 more jobs at the end of December than at the same time last year. She says many of them were in education and health services, but there was significant growth in other fields.  Granier says overall unemployment rates are also down statewide; from 7.7% in November to 7.2% for December. She says fewer people are requesting jobless benefits and Louisiana continues to out-perform the national jobless rate..:(The national average jobless rate is 9.4%)
