Five high school seniors, who recently signed to play college softball for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, may very well become All-Americans during their final year in the prep ranks.


All five, who all will be eligible to play Louisiana next year, represent the Southwest Region.

Garay, a product of Bay City (Texas) High School, went 22-3 last season, to go along with a 1.09 ERA., while accumulating 301 strikeouts. At the plate, Garay hit .397 with three home runs.


Neel, from Richmond (Texas) Foster High School, hit .476 with 35 RBI's as a junior last season, while hitting over .600 with 33 RBI's in travel ball with Texas Elite.


Rufus, from Lake Ridge (Texas) High School, was rated a Top 100 player by FloSoftball and Extra Innings Softball for the 2019 season. As a junior, Rufus hit .441 and collected 10 triples, 26 stolen bases and 38 RBI's.
