Daniel Gonsoulin of New Iberia has been chosen as King Surcrose XXVI and his Queen will be determined this Saturday at the Sugar Cane Festival Coronation.  Today Gail Boudreaux of the Sugar Cane Festival Association joined 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' to invite everyone to the festivities.

Boudreaux said,

"Ten young ladies from the sugar-producing parishes will be vying for the title of Queen Sugar XXVI this Saturday night at the Festival pageant.  On Sunday afternoon Queen Sugar will reign over the Queen's parade under bright sunny skies on the Bayou Teche."

Activities over the five day festival include music each evening in Bouligny Plaza in downtown New Iberia, fourteen acres of fair rides, parades on Saturday and Sunday and of course plenty of great food.
