A 9-year-old Duson boy suffered moderate injuries in a crash when the bicycle he was riding was struck by a pick-up truck Sunday afternoon.

Duson Police are investigating the accident but witness accounts support that the 10-year-old bicyclist failed to stop at a stop sign on Avenue Au Nord at Second Street and the driver of the pickup truck did not have sufficient time to avoid colliding with the child.

The child is being transported by Acadian Ambulance for severe scrapes and possible broken bones but the injuries are not life-threatening.   No citations have been issued in this crash.
