Amazon Starts Hiring for Louisiana Plant – See Job Listings

SHREVEPORT, LA – The Amazon fulfillment center is set to to open in Shreveport next year and the company is now starting the hiring process.

Amazon is now recruiting Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) team members to help keep the high-tech facility running with optimum efficiency. The company is offering training courses for those who want to be ready to hit the ground running.

The job postings on the Amazon site is good news for many local leaders who say this is a sign the company is now full steam ahead for opening this facility next year.

At the current moment the bulk of the hiring is for Maintenance Tech 2 worker. However, this is great news for Shreveport Bossier and the entire region.

"At least one year of experience in an advanced manufacturing environment is preferred for job seekers applying for a Maintenance Tech 2 position" according to Amanda Willard of Amazon’s Strategic Workforce Development, Worldwide Talent Development Team.

According to Louisiana Economic Development (LED), the Amazon Shreveport facility will employ more than 1,000 workers, including about 200 RME positions.
