Another Lafayette Republican Enters Race For Congress

With Senator David Vitter stepping down from his Washington seat and Congressman Charles Boustany announcing his candidacy Republicans are lining up to fill Boustany's seat. Today Lafayette Parish School Board Member Erick Knezek has announced his plans to replace Boustany. According to our news partner KATC Knezek is a former Navy diver who started a company that specializes in providing ocean engineering solutions to the marine and energy markets.

In making his announcement Knezek said,

I'm running for Louisiana's 3rd Congressional Distict because, like so many Louisianans, I still believe in the American Dream. But I also share their concern that if we don't fight for it, those opportunities will dim for our children and grandchildren.

Retired Army Lt. Col. Greg Ellison announced his candidacy for Boustany's seat last week.
