Bossier City native Jared Leto is not new to the world of comic book movies. In fact, he's played one of the most well known comic book characters off all time on the big screen.

The Academy and Golden Globe Award winning actor shocked the movie world when he put his personal spin on the classic Batman villain The Joker in 2016's Suicide Squad. His version of the classic character was not the conventional take, and rub some fans the wrong way, but the portrayal did "click" with some modern comic book fans. The updated take on the character was closer to some modern versions of The Joker than classic comics (and TV/Movie versions). Which is likely why he's getting another shot at a comic book movie.

This time, he's crossing the line, and going from DC Comics to Marvel.

Leto will be playing the titular character in the new movie Morbius. Named after, and staring Spider-Man anti-hero/villain Michael Morbius.

ComicBook.com describes Morbius:

"Dr. Michael Morbius, a scientist whose attempt to cure himself of a blood disease leads to him developing vampire-like powers."

The most intriguing part of this whole thing, the movie, and specifically the trailer, is whether or not this movie will act as the bridge between Sony's Spider-Man world, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe version. Right now, Tom Holland's Spider-Man lives in the MCU, while Tom Hardy's Venom lives in the Sony world. There's been a ton of speculation that the two will soon merge into a shared universe, but those rumors were tempered when the two studios seemed to part ways last year. Though it seems like that was patched up (thanks to Holland).

SO, the surprise of the trailer is at the very end. When actor Michael Keaton appears for a quick second. Keaton exists in the Marvel MCU as Spider-Man villain The Vulture, Adrian Toomes. He appeared in the MCU film Spider-Man: Homecoming. So, is this it? Will Morbius be the film that finally ties the two studios together in a shared universe?

Why else would you make him the surprise at the end of the trailer?

In fact, check out this note from the trailer...at the end of Homecoming, Vulture is wearing this in prison:
