UPDATE 10:41 am: According to LPSS, the lockdown has been lifted and a suspect is now in custody and has been charged with Terrorizing.

Lafayette Police searched the school and found the bomb threat to be false.


 

Reports of a lockdown at Lafayette High School have been confirmed by Lafayette Police. At 6:41 this morning, school officials locked down the campus after a verbal threat of violence. Parents and students are asked not to go to the school at this time until the threat can be assessed. Lafayette Parish Sheriff Spokesman John Mowell says investigators are on the scene. According to parents, students are remaining on campus at this time.
