Lafayette Police, with the help of Jeanerette Police, were able to locate and arrest a suspect who is alleged to have robbed the Iberia Bank on Pinhook Road Tuesday afternoon.  As soon as  the surveillance video was released, Jeanerette Police contacted Lafayette Police to tell them they believed they knew who the man was.  Shortly after that, Lafayette Police arrested 37-year-old Claude James Hebert of Franklin.

Corporal Paul Mouton with Lafayette Police says the suspect approached the teller and pulled out a revolver. He then got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police say the suspect is six-foot male wearing a blue blazer with light blue shirt, sunglasses, and a beret. He was seen leaving the scene in an older Chevrolet Trail Blazer.
