Cajun Soccer Club Rage 95 Is Heading To Colorado For National Cup
CSC Club Rage 95
The Cajun Soccer Club Rage 95, a competitive 18-under girls soccer team from the Acadiana area, is on their way to Aurora, Colorado, to participate in the United States Club Soccer (US CLUB) National Cup, July 18-22.
Coached by Dave Lapeyrouse, the CSC Rage 95 finished in second place in the Gulf States Premier League (GSPL) of the U.S. National Club Premier League, one of eight US CLUB National Premier Leagues across the Gulf Coast region. That second-place finish qualified them for the Gulf States Premier League Final Four Tournament, in Jackson, Mississippi.
There, CSC Rage 95 defeated the Mississippi Fire, a 2012 national finalist, in dramatic fashion, winning 2-1, in a penalty-kick shootout.
That exciting win advanced the CSC Rage 95 team to the National Cup, which will consist of eight National Premier League champions, competing in 2 four-team brackets, with the winners of each bracket advancing to the semifinals.
CSC Rage 95 features six players that recently graduated high school, and have signed to play college soccer, including four St. Thomas More graduates Kaitlyn Culotta (West Florida), Elleanor Cook (Louisiana), Taylor Kennedy (Louisiana), and Kat Werther (ULM), as well as two Teurlings Catholic alums, Hannah Savoie (Nicholls St.), and Bethany Hollier (Nicholls St.).
The squad also features five seniors-to-be who have already committed to play college soccer, beginning in 2014, including Nicole Dincau (Louisiana Tech) of St. Thomas More, along with Haley Laque (Louisiana Tech), Riley LeBlanc (University of Mobile), and Cayla Hebert (University of Mobile), all of Lafayette High.
