
Cajuns 2025 Baseball Schedule Released
(Lafayette, Louisiana) - The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns unveiled their highly anticipated 2025 baseball schedule, which includes 34 home games at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field at Russo Park and promises a thrilling season for fans. With non-conference clashes against powerhouses like San Jose State, Nebraska, and Dallas Baptist, the schedule sets the stage for Louisiana to defend its Sun Belt Conference title and showcase its talented roster under head coach Matt Deggs, now entering his sixth season. Louisiana, the reigning Sun Belt Conference regular-season champion, will face a tough schedule, playing 21 games against teams that competed in the 2024 NCAA Regionals, with 13 of those games taking place at home. This lineup is highlighted by a challenging three-game home series against Nebraska (Feb. 21-23) and Dallas Baptist (March 7-9), two of the many notable programs on their slate. Additional NCAA Regional qualifiers on the Ragin’ Cajuns’ home schedule include UNC Wilmington (March 5), Louisiana Tech (April 2), Grambling (April 22), and Nicholls (April 23).
When Does the Cajuns 2025 Baseball Season Start?
The season kicks off on Feb. 14-16 with a home series against San Jose State, a 2023 NCAA Regional participant, before Louisiana takes on Nebraska, which posted a 40-22 record last year. Mardi Gras weekend will see the Cajuns travel to the West Coast to face UC Irvine (Feb. 28-March 2), a team that finished the 2024 season with a remarkable 45-14 record. They return to Lafayette just in time for an Ash Wednesday game against UNC Wilmington.
Conference play opens on March 14-16 when Louisiana hosts Troy for a three-game set, the first of several Sun Belt matchups scheduled at home. Other key conference home games include series against James Madison, Texas State (April 4-6), Georgia Southern (April 25-27), and Arkansas State (May 15-17). Away series will feature matchups against Sun Belt rivals like South Alabama, ULM, and Southern Miss.
Non-conference play begins on February 18 against Texas Southern and includes a series of exciting midweek games at home and away, with trips to McNeese, Southeastern Louisiana, and LSU, providing additional opportunities for Louisiana to demonstrate their skills.

The season will culminate with the Sun Belt Conference Baseball Championships at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery, Alabama, from May 20-25, with the NCAA Regionals beginning May 30.
