Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team is back in action on Saturday evening, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad plays host to the Troy Trojans in a Sun Belt Conference tilt.

Tip-off is scheduled for approximately 7:15 pm, and you can hear all the play-by-play action on ESPN 1420 and espn1420.com, along with Hot 107.9 and 1079ishot.com, beginning with the pregame show at 6:45 pm.

The game marks the Sun Belt Conference home opener for the Cajuns, and will be the back-end of a day/night women's/men's doubleheader, with the UL women hosting Troy at 5 pm.

Louisiana, who is coming off of an 83-79 overtime road win over UALR in their conference on Tuesday night, is 7-5 on the season, and 1-0 in league play, while Troy, who fell to Texas St., 57-46, on Tuesday evening, will bring in an overall record of 5-5, and a league mark of 0-1.

The Cajuns are outscoring by the opposition, 82/0/71.3, while out-shooting foes from the floor, 48.6%/40.7%, and holding down a 41.4/35.1 rebounding edge.

UL is paced by junior forward Shawn Long, who leads the team in both scoring and rebounding, at 15.6 ppg, and 8.9 rpg, respectively, and junior forward Devonta Walker, who is averaging 12.0 points, to go along with 7.3 rebounds a contest.

The Trojans are being outscored by the opposition, 71.3/69.7, while also being out-shot, by foes from the field, 46.4%/41.5%, and out-rebounded, 39.1/35.0.

Troy is paced by senior guard Musa Abdul-Aleem, who is averaging 16.2 points and 4.4 rebounds-per-game, along with freshman guard Wesley Person, who is averaging 13.0 points, along with 2.5 rebounds a contest.

Louisiana leads all-time series, 10-5, including wins in the last three match-ups between the two squads.
