The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns ran their modest win streak to two games on Monday night.

Louisiana picked up a big Sun Belt Conference road triumph, downing the Appalachian St. Mountaineers, 81-73, in Boone, North Carolina.

The win follows a 79-62 home win over the Troy Trojans last Saturday night.

Appalachian St. controlled most of the first half, leading by as many as 15 points (36-21), with 6:32 to go in the half.

Louisiana ended the half strongly, however, outscoring App St. the remainder of the half, 18-10, to trim the deficit to 46-39 at halftime.

With the Mountaineers leading, 59-54, with 11:23 to go, the Cajuns went on a huge 15-2 run over the next 3:43, to grab a 69-61 advantage with 7:40 remaining.

UL extended their lead, their biggest of the game, to 12 points at the 4:03 mark, 76-64, before coasting to the 8-point victory.

Mylik Wilson led the way for Louisiana, scoring 21 of his career-high 30 points, while Dou Gueye added 15 points and 7 rebounds off the bench.

Wilson, who went 10-of-19 from the field, including 4-of-8 from beyond the three-point arc, also finished with nine rebounds and five steals.

In a losing cause for Appalachian St., Justin Forrest scored 21 points.

The Cajuns outshot the Mountaineers from the field, 47%/44%, while also finishing with a 40-31 rebounding edge.

With the victory, Louisiana improved to 7-9, overall, and 2-3 in Sun Belt Conference play, while Appalachian St. fell to 9-7 and 3-2, respectively.

The Cajuns return to action on Thursday evening, when they travel to Atlanta, Georgia to take on the Georgia St. Panthers
