Summer Ellyson was dominant this past weekend as the Cajuns swept the defending Sun Belt Conference Tournament winners from a year ago at their place in Texas State. Because of her efforts she collected her second Community Coffee Sun Belt Softball Pitcher of the Week award of the 2019 season.

This was the first time Louisiana has swept Texas State in San Marcos since they've joined the conference.

Ellyson pitched a total of 14.2 innings limiting the Bobcats to a single run, six hits, and she threw 12.2 innings straight scoreless innings picking up all three wins.

In addition, she was clutch in the series-clinching game as she entered in relief in the fourth with the game tied and didn't allow a hit until the seventh inning. She also stranded five Bobcats in scoring position over those relief innings as Louisiana wrapped up its 47th consecutive Sun Belt series win.

Finally, in the final game of the series Ellyson set the tone tossing four hit-less frames to start off this game. She then wrapped up her no-hit effort with an additional 1.2 innings pitched after re-entering the game following a late Texas State push, as they trimmed the lead to 6-4.

Summer Ellyson is currently 13-3 on the season notching eight complete games, pitching to a 1.33 ERA in 89.1 innings pitched with 100 strikeouts and only 17 walks.
