Stephen Hawking died today (3/14), and Cambridge University paid tribute to the legendary physicist.

Hawking passed away at his home in Cambridge. The famous university there, where he was a professor, made a moving video using a speech by Hawking.

The YouTube video was made with this as the description:

Professor Stephen Hawking (1942 – 2018). Widely regarded as one of the world’s most brilliant minds, Stephen Hawking, who died this week at the age of 76, was known throughout the world for his contributions to science, his books, his television appearances, his lectures and through biographical films. He leaves three children and three grandchildren. All of us at Cambridge University will miss him greatly.

Stephen Hawking was diagnosed with ALS in 1963, and was expected to live only two years. He outlived that expectation by 53 years.

He was not only a great mind, but he inspired people to never give up, to keep their head up, as you can hear in his speech above.
