SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA, La. (KPEL News) - We have been pining for a Trader Joe's to open up on Lafayette for what seems like decades. In the meantime we have to settle for a trip to Baton Rouge if we want to partake in their organic offerings.

Trader Joe's, headquartered in Monrovia, California, touts itself as a company that is "committed to providing our customers outstanding value in the form of the best quality products at the best everyday prices." They are well known for having fresh, organic foods at reasonable prices.

One popular item sold at Trader Joe's is the Organic Acai Bowls. The 10-ounce package is sold under the Trader Joe’s brand and is made with berries, bananas, granola, and dried coconut. Unfortunately, a problem with the production of the bowls has led to drastic action by the company. Trader Joe's is asking their customers to please discard any Trader Joe’s Organic Acai Bowls out of an abundance of caution, as the product may contain foreign material (plastic), or return them to your neighborhood Trader Joe’s store for a full refund.
