Car Crash In St. Mary Parish Leads To Man’s Arrest

St. Mary Parish Sheriff's officials arrested a Centerville man last night after they say 37-year-old Danny Savoie crash his truck and ran away.

Deputies were called out to the crash on Prairie Road Circle after a pick-up truck was found flipped over in a ditch.

Witnesses told police that the driver ran away from the truck after the crash to a nearby home.

Savoie was charged with the following:

• Driving while intoxicated
• Reckless operation of a motor vehicle
• No drivers license

When a deputy found Savoie at the home, he was given a field sobriety test, and the officer says Savoie performed poorly on the test.

Savoie blew a 0.157% on a breath test, and he was arrested.
