Lafayette, LA. – Community Foundation of Acadiana (CFA) recently celebrated its 10 Year Anniversary with several successful community events.  The following is a recap of all events.

·         10th Anniversary Cocktail Celebration - CFA celebrated its community members, fund owners and donors at a cocktail event at City Club on December 2, 2010 featuring special guest Tom Bloch, former CEO of H & R Block.  Tom Bloch, author of two books titled Stand for the Best and Many Happy Returns, brought a message of hope and inspiration to the CFA audience as he illustrated that philanthropy can successfully create positive change in a community. The event was sponsored by Morgan Keegan, Onebane Law Firm, and Sunland Construction.
·         2010 Professional Advisors Breakfast - On December 3, 2010 CFA hosted over 20 professional advisors for a round-table breakfast seminar on CFA’s Financial Advisor Program.  Advisors in attendance represented several of the parishes in Acadiana and guest speakers included:  Don Capretz, J.D., B.B.A. (of Don A. Capretz A Professional Law Corporation), Tom Bloch (former CEO of H&R Bloch), and Mike DeHart (CFA Investment Committee Chair, Stuller Family Foundation).  Don Capretz spoke of the “Federal Estate Tax Status”, Tom Bloch spoke of “Strategic Philanthropy” and Mike DeHart spoke of CFA’s Financial Advisor Program.  The message was clear; advisors can achieve their client’s philanthropic and financial goals by partnering with CFA through its Financial Advisor Program.
·         Holiday Open House & Ribbon Cutting - CFA welcomed Acadiana on December 9, 2010 with a Holiday Open House & Ribbon Cutting.  The Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce hosted a formal Ribbon Cutting to announce CFA’s new building location on Camellia Boulevard.  Guests enjoyed fresh-baked holiday cookies and hot chocolate.  The event was sponsored by Paul Michael Company, who provided a beautifully adorned Christmas tree decorated in complimentary colors of the new CFA office.
