Marathon Brewing Company now makes a beer "for runners, by runners" and supposedly it's great to drink after a workout.

The new brewing company is a branch of Boston Brewing Company, aka the guys behind Sam Adams, and are taking this whole "wellness booze" trend to the next level with the release of their first beverage 26.2 Brew.

According to The New York Post, the new healthy brew contains 4.0 percent alcohol by volume, 9 grams of carbs and 120 calories and is made with Himalayan sea salt, which helps to replenish your body with electrolytes.

The whole idea of "healthy beer" might seem a little far-fetched, but it actually makes sense. I mean, how many times have you seen people crack a beer after a long race? It's pretty common, so the need for a beer with amped up health benefits is kinda genius.

Is drinking beer after a workout better than drinking water or a sports drink? Of course not. But if you're going to drink a beer after a good sweat sesh, it might as well be a 26.2 Brew.
