SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — Eight months after dropping his proposed sagging pants ban from the Caddo Commission agenda, Commissioner Michael Williams has revived the ordinance. This time, it's a resolution encouraging businesses to adopt dress codes banning the wearing of pajamas and traditional sleepwear in their establishments.

The Times reports Williams first mentioned his idea when the commission met in January. He told fellow commissioners then about an incident at a local Walmart during which he witnessed several young men wearing pajama pants and no underwear.

Williams also plans to introduce legislation to ban sagging pants in the parish, a law already in place within the city limits of Shreveport.

In 2011, Shreveport police reported 31 incidents involving wearing of pants below the waist in public.
