Counterfeit Buc-ee’s Discovered In Middle East
The hugely popular Buc-ee's convenience store has been found in the Middle East...but the owner's of the chain didn't know about it.
Truth be told, Buc-ee's was legend to me up until about a month ago. I had seen them in passing from the interstate. I had heard the tales of what the self proclaimed "World's Largest Convenience Store" had to offer. Then I experienced it and I was still blown away.
Buc-ee's is also known to pay their employees an actual living wage.
That being said, there's plenty of people who have either only heard the stories, or make it a point to stop at Buc-ee's every chance they get. The stores are strewn across Texas, with one location in Alabama.
Notice that there was no mention of Buc-ee's being "worldwide."
According to MySanAntonio.com, the owners of Buc-ee's was not aware of the existence of this particular Buc-ee's half a world away.
Arch "Beaver" Aplin III responded to Texas Monthly editor Eric Benson, saying: "That beats all. Unbelievable. While it's doubtful this outpost is a legitimate Buc-ee's location, given that the founder was unaware of its curious address, it's still pretty impressive that the chain — founded in Lake Jackson in 1982 — was able to make a splash thousands of miles away.
If you're not familiar with Buc-ee's, this should give you an idea.
