SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover fires a top aide, saying it's because of a criminal investigation by police.

Glover's four-sentence announcement did not give any details about the allegations against Rick Seaton, his assistant chief administrative officer.

It says Seaton was fired immediately, following procedures used in similar situations involving city personnel.

Seaton went to work for the city when Glover became mayor four years ago, starting as an assistant to the mayor and a liaison between the city administration and the local legislative delegation.

He was later put in charge of the city budget. When the head of operational services resigned last month, Seaton was given that job, in charge of the streets, drainage and sanitation departments.
