Our officers have worked hard to fight the problems we have in our community and I appreciate their dedication to the department and to our citizens.”

Crowley Police investigated a total of 8908 calls. These calls do not include traffic citations, alarm calls or other non-reporting complaints. In all, it is estimated that just under 11,000 incidents were investigated by the department.

The department investigated 3 homicides which occurred between May and November. Other cases investigated are as follows:

Forcible Rape – 4

Robbery – 12

Assault – 224

Burglary – 186

Theft – 527

Narcotics – 487

Of the 487 narcotics complaints opened for investigation, 291 where closed by arrest and the majority of the remaining 196 cases remain under investigation. Traffic violations issued in the city, other than LACE citations were 785.

“We would like to see these numbers decrease every year, but reality is that we are dealing with problems greater than those of 20 plus years ago. Our departments efforts will continue to support our community,” stated Chief Gibson.
