A Bossier Police Officer involved in the fatal shooting of a woman won't face criminal charges. Bossier Webster District Attorney Schuyler Marvin says all of the evidence points to justifiable actions by officer Patrick Edmonds Jr. He shot and killed 45-year-old Shannon Rupert at the La Quinta Hotel in Bossier City on October 25th. She aggressively charged at him carrying a pocket knife and a pair of scissors and got within 4 feet of the officer. Marvin says officer Edmonds could have reasonably believed he was in imminent danger of suffering bodily injury or even death.

The Bossier City Police Department has released surveillance and body cam video of the incident in which Rupert of Shreveport was shot and killed by officer Edmonds,
