The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals Secretary Bruce Greenstein began a statewide tour today to meet with citizens and health care providers to discuss changing the way medicaid is managed in the state. Greenstein says it's clear the health care system in the state is broken. Greenstein says the healthcare system is a large portion of our state's economy and changing the system of payment disrupts personal income. He says this will be one of the biggest challenges for the imperative change in the way health care is managed in Louisiana. The tour started this afternoon in Monroe and a full schedule of the regional forums can be found online at makingmedicaidbetter.com. Greenstein invites citizens to come out, ask questions and propose ideas.
