Dolly Parton fans have speulated for years about whether or not their idol has tattoos. Now 74, the country music legend comes clean...yes she does.

Singer and '9 to 5' movie star Dolly Parton reveals to PEOPLE. "I do have some tattoos, that's true, but they're tasteful. I'm not a tattoo girl."

Parton fan have wondered if the reason she's always worn sleeves is to hide full arm tattoos.

My tattoos are pretty, they're arful and they usually started out to cover some scar, not to make a big statement. Ribbons and bows and butterflies are the things that I have. I was very sick for a while and I had to wear a feeding tube. It left a little indention in my side and I didn't like it because I'm so fair that scars turn purple on me.-PEOPLE

Parton says she's not a negative person. Her tattoos turn something negative into a positive. Dolly had a small yellow-and-brown beehive with a bee on top of the beehive tattooed over her feeding tube scar. The mouth of it is actually the tiny scar.

Dolly's husband, Carl Dean, has been the love of her life for 43 years. However, she doesn't have his named tattooed anywhere on her body. She says Carl is, "tattooed on my heart".
