Elderly Valentine Couple Marks Second Time As Longest Married Couple In Louisiana

For the second year in a row an elderly couple from Marksville is being honored on Valentine's Day as the longest married couple in Louisiana.

Louisiana Family Forum Executive Director Gene Mills says Norman and Norma Burma have been married 82 years.  That makes the Burmas the longest known married couple in the state.  Norman is 101 years old and his wife Norma is 99.

Norman said the secret to their longevity is the unrelenting love and respect they have for each other.
