Many residents of South Louisiana spent a part of their evening in the dark. I am not talking about they went outside to look at the stars. I am saying they were without electricity. And as of shortly after 2 am this morning Entergy was still reporting slightly more than 400 of their customers being without power service.

A social media post from the Port Barre Police Department confirmed that there had been a major service interruption in that St. Landry Parish community. The post from PBPD suggested that Entergy had been notified of the issue and was working to address the concerns.

As of now, telephone service to the Port Barre Police Department has been restored and hopefully, the remainder of customers without power will have their service restored in short order.
