Groundbreaking For Kaliste Saloom Project

Today a groundbreaking ceremony will be held by Lafayette Consolidated Government officials for the Kaliste Saloom widening project.

The project aims to not only widen Kaliste Saloom but to also extend the roadway.

LCG officials say that this project will be done to widen the current two-lane road by making it five lanes.

Officials say that by also adding a turning lane as part of this project, it will allow more traffic to be able to utilize the area.

It's going to take at least three years to complete this project, and the full work will start on Monday, August 12.

Anyone is invited to attend today's ceremony which will begin at 10 o'clock this morning.
