Thursday Acadiana Curfew Updates:

Drivers should exercise extreme caution as pockets of ice may still linger on roadways, posing potential hazards. Officials recommend giving yourself extra time to reach your destination and reducing your speed to accommodate for icy conditions.

ACADIA PARISH:

Local officials have announced that the curfew previously in place has been lifted.

ST. LANDRY PARISH:

The City of Opelousas has announced that the curfew implemented during the recent winter storm has officially been lifted, effective immediately.

IBERIA PARISH:

Iberia Parish President M. Larry Richard has declared a curfew for ALL of Iberia Parish, including the municipalities of Delcambre, Jeanerette, Loreauville, and New Iberia, effective Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., continuing daily until lifted.

This list will be updated as more parishes announce whether their curfews will remain in place or be lifted.

Winter Storm Enzo brought over 10 inches of snow to South Louisiana, making travel extremely dangerous for motorists, especially those who have never had to drive in these conditions before.

Curfews are implemented by city officials during severe weather events, such as Winter Storm Enzo, to ensure public safety and minimize risks.

These measures are designed to protect residents, emergency responders, and property during potentially hazardous conditions.

Most of the curfews in place will be lifted Wednesday morning however , some will be in place until further notice.

KADN reported that the following parishes have curfews this evening to prevent people from driving on hazardous roadways.

Acadiana Parishes With Curfews January 21-22

Acadia Parish:

  • Parish-wide - Tuesday, January 21, at 6 p.m. until Wednesday, January 22, at 6 a.m.
  • Church Point - Tuesday, January 21, at 12 a.m. to Wednesday January 22, at 8 a.m.

 Evangeline Parish:

  • Parish-wide - Tuesday, January 21, at 7 p.m. until Wednesday, January 22, at 7 a.m.
  • Mamou - Tuesday, January 21, at 5 p.m. until further notice

Iberia Parish:

  • Parish-wide - Including the Delcambre, Loreauville, and New Iberia municipalities, beginning Tuesday, January 21, at 5 p.m. and lasting until Wednesday, January 22, at 7 a.m.
  • Jeanerette - Curfew starts Tuesday at 2 p.m. and lasts until Wednesday at 7 a.m.

St. Landry Parish:

  • Parish-wide (unincorporated areas) - Tuesday, January 21, at 5 p.m. until Wednesday, January 22, at 5 a.m.
  • Opelousas - Tuesday, January 21, at 5 p.m. until Wednesday, January 22, at 6 a.m.

St. Martin Parish:

  • Parish-wide starting Tuesday, January 21, at 4 p.m. until Wednesday, January 22, at 4 p.m.

St. Mary Parish:

  • Parish-wide - Including Baldwin, Berwick, Franklin, Morgan City, and Patterson, effective Tuesday, January 21, at 5 p.m. until Wednesday, January 22, at 7 a.m.

Lafayette Parish:

We spoke with local law enforcement, who confirmed that there is no curfew for Lafayette Parish. It is recommended that people stay off the roadways unless it is absolutely necessary.
