The search for a new higher education commissioner is expected to heat
up over the next few weeks as the Board of Regents has been told by
lawmakers they can hire someone for an annual salary of 275-thousand
dollars. Board of Regents spokesperson Meg Casper says with the salary issue out of the way the search is expected to go quickly.  Casper says the search firm now has a better idea of what the state is
willing to offer.
