Hostage Scene Cleared In New Iberia

There was a brief hostage situation after a domestic disturbance call came into the New Iberia Police Department Friday evening.

The hostage situation was diffused quickly according to our news partners at KATC.

A call came in about a disturbance in the 400 block of Robertson Street. The man was barricaded himself inside the home.  Police were able to negotiate with the man, and he released the woman around 10:30.

No other details are known at this time.
