The Lafayette Parish School Board issued a statement regarding an incident that happened at the campus of Paul Breaux Middle School this morning.

School system officials say that around 6:30 a.m. a female intruder entered the school property, and Lafayette Police Department Spokeswoman Bridgette Dugas says the woman made a bomb threat.

Randy Bernard, school system spokesman, reports the woman never made it into any of the buildings, and the school was thoroughly searched.

Lafayette Police, fire and sheriff's officials searched the school, but nothing dangerous was found.

Police arrested 36-year-old Naeema A. Ahmed of Lafayette on a charge of Criminal Trespassing and Terrorizing.

Students went back to class around 8:15 this morning.
