The heat is on in Louisiana and we will take any type of break from the extreme temperatures this summer.

Fall is still several weeks away and the days of cool fronts in Louisiana are nowhere near, however, we may see a cool front reach some southern states in the days ahead.

According to Meteorologist Scott Pilie' a cool front will soon sweep across much of the central part of the country and it will try to make its way into South Louisiana. The bad news is that this front will not bring the cooler temps to the "Bayou State" as it may to other states north of Louisiana.

There is some good news though and that is we may see below normal temps in the next few days, and that may be temps in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Rain changes will also be increasing as we approach the end of the work week and into the weekend.

If you want more good news, there's very little to worry about in the tropics at this time, but don't let your guard down as the peak of hurricane season comes in August and early September.

Now, let's all cross our toes and fingers in hopes that this cool front and bring some relief to the southern region.
