Another high school football game was stopped after shots were fired near the stadium.

KPLC-TV reports that the game between Lake Charles College Prep vs. Kinder game at Cougar Stadium on Thursday night was stopped in the fourth quarter after shots rang out in the vicinity of the stadium.

The Lake Charles news stations reported that police were investigating a shooting at the 1600 block of Second Street, and luckily no one was injured in the shooting.

Both schools tell KPLC that their players and staff are fine and that no one was injured in the scare.

Sadly, this isn't the first game in South Louisiana that was stopped this year due to shots being fired near stadiums.

As for the game being played in Lake Charles, it will have to resume at a later date as Kinder led LCCP 21-12. The venue where the rest of the game will be played has not been determined as of this report being written.

However, it appears that the same stadium may be available this Saturday to conclude the game with just over eight minutes left.

What makes this situation even sadder is that this may be the final football game for some as the high school football regular season comes to an end. What a terrible way for some of these kids to end their high school football career.
