Louisiana Wife Lifts Roof Off of Husband to Save Him
The weather that tore through Louisiana Wednesday left a path of destruction from west Louisiana to east Louisiana. One of the places that experienced devastating winds was Baton Rouge, but a woman fought Mother Nature to save her husband.
As the storms were raging yesterday, Sirrand and April Roddy were at his late grandmother's house when all of the sudden something terrible happened. A very large tree crashed through the back of the home where Sirrand was.
The tree went through the roof of the home and landed on both of Sirrand's legs, breaking both of them.
That's when April Roddy sprang into action to free her husband. You hear of stories like this that when someone's loved one is in peril they can have amazing strength to do extraordinary things like lifting extremely heavy items from someone.
Sirand Roddy says,
The roof fell on the top of me, and she got up under the roof some kind of way. She held it up and got me out of there.
Poor Sirrand did have both of his legs broken though, poor man. He has surgery on his legs scheduled for Friday. As far as his wife, he says he believes his wife was able to save his life by the grace of God.
April says she does not know where the strength come from, but she is so grateful that she was able to lift the roof up and help him to safety.
Now the couple is trying how to get the tree removed from their yard.
