The time has come for the foundation to be built at Southside High in Youngsville, Louisiana.

Councilman Matt Romero published several photos on social media and they show dirt being moved in for the new football field at Southside High.

Like many football stadiums in Lafayette Parish, the new playing surface at Southside High will be artificial turf. This requires a lot less maintenance for coaches and staff at the school.

As you can see here, the beginning process is currently underway, and Councilman Romero applauds how quickly things are moving at Southside High.

According to KLFY News 10, the $3.3 Million stadium project will be completed in phases with phase one consisting of laying down turf on the field and placing a scoreboard and lights around the field.

Phase two of the project will include adding extra parking lots, the construction of bathrooms, and concession facilities.

Phase one of the massive project is set to be completed by September 2024, weather permitting.

Here's a look at the beginning of phase one from Councilman Romero
