A New Orleans mansion known as "Ghost Manor" will be featured on the ABC show "The Great Halloween Fright Fight" this Sunday, October 29.

The Gentry family, owners of the home, will be competing against three other families for a $50,000 grand prize.

This season, there are only two episodes of the show. One aired last Sunday and this week's episode airs this Sunday, October 29 at 9:00 pm central on ABC. And at the end of each show, a $50,000 grand prize winner is declared.

Welcome to Ghost Manor

Ghost Manor is located at the corner of Magazine St and Second St in Uptown New Orleans. The Queen Anne style Victorian home was built in 1892 and over the years has had its fair share of ghosts and memories from the many people who have called it home.

The home is owned by David Gentry and his family and they've been running Ghost Manor since 2012. However, it started small and things have grown each year since.

Initially, they tried making a ghost fly from window to windw. Every year since, the display has grown piece by piece as elements were added and technology has improved.

In 2015, they added coordinated lighting effects from the roof all the way down into the garden and the oak tree.

In 2016, they added four animatronic skeletons. This year the family added forty hand-carved pumpkins that are coordinated to the scenes.

Can I visit Ghost Manor?

The answer is yes. And Ghost Manor is really a spectacle in which only an in-person visit can do it justice.

You can do that a few more times through Halloween. The home is open for public viewing on the following dates:

  • Friday, October 27 - 7pm to 10pm
  • Saturday, October 28 - 7pm to 10pm
  • Tuesday, October 31 - 7pm to 10pm
