You couldn't prove it with an x-ray or an MRI but all you have to do is hang around us long enough and you'll figure out there is a direct connection between Louisiana hearts, Louisiana minds, and Louisiana stomachs. That's a long way of saying we wholeheartedly think about eating almost every waking minute of the day.

Another thing that Louisiana is quite famous for is our support of groups that give back to our communities. Here in our building, almost every member of the staff works closely with charities and youth groups in their hometowns and neighborhoods. One of the more popular youth groups not only here but around the world is the Girl Scouts.

And when we mention Girl Scouts in Louisiana the next word that comes to mind is cookies. We do love our Girl Scout cookies in Louisiana. So, it was with some trepidation that I reviewed press information that was recently announced by the Girl Scouts of America.

The Girl Scouts Are Discontinuing an Extremely Popular Fan-Favorite Cookie

Since it's just you and me talking right here, how many of you think the Girl Scouts are about to dump the Thin Mints? Don't worry, that won't happen. If they discontinued the Thin Mints the events of January 6th in Washington would look like a preschool picnic compared to volatile protests that would erupt if Thin Mints were removed.

I am pretty sure there would be Congressional hearings if Samoas were removed or the Peanut Butter Patties too. So which cookie is getting "paused" for at least this year?

It's the Raspberry Rally Cookie. It was sold online only last year and demand for the cookies was so incredible they were being resold on auction sites for as much as $180 dollars a box. The Girl Scouts gave no particular reason why they were not selling the Raspberry Rally cookie other than to say they "wanted to prioritize supplying our classic varieties".

So, no. Louisiana Girl Scouts will not be allowed to offer Raspberry Rally cookies to you either online or in person. But when cookie time rolls around at the beginning of the year you will be able to get Do-si-dos, Samoas, Peanut Butter Patties Tagalongs, Trefoils, and unclench your fists, Thin Mints.
