Louisiana Residents Who’ve Owned an iPhone 7 Could Be Getting Hundreds of Dollars Back

If you have owned an iPhone 7, you may be owed hundreds of dollars back from Apple.

A $35 million class-action settlement was reached related to microphone or audio issues for Apple's iPhone 7 or 7 Plus.

Details of the settlement

The settlement stems from a 2019 lawsuit filed by Joseph Casillas and De'Jhontai Banks, who claimed they began experiencing issues the year after purchasing their iPhone 7 devices in 2017.

However, Apple denied in the settlement claim that the devices had such issues and denied all allegations of wrongdoing. Despite that claim, the two sides reached an agreement so Apple would avoid further costs.

Who is eligible for part of the settlement?

According to the class-action settlement, those who owned an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus between September 15, 2016, and January 3, 2023, and complained to Apple about audio issues or needed repairs could be in for a nice payout.

Those of you who paid Apple for repairs or a replacement could get up to $349, while those who complained about the issue to Apple but did not pay out of pocket for repairs are eligible for up to $125.

The minimum pay for eligible claims is $50.

The deadline to submit a claim is June 3, 2024, and you can do that via the settlement website.
