Shaking Out the Good Stuff – Gordon McKernan Giving Away Bikes to Kids in Lafayette

Louisiana personal injury attorney Gordon McKernan is "shaking out the good stuff" this holiday season as his firm again holds its annual Gordon Gives Bike Giveaway. The giveaway will provide 488 free bicycles and helmets to children across seven Louisiana cities.

The history behind the Gordon Gives Bike Giveaway

The program was started over a decade ago in Baton Rouge with 94 bikes. It's now grown into a statewide initiative that reaches children in Lafayette, Lake Charles, Alexandria, Shreveport, Monroe, Baton Rouge, and Hammond.

“Every year, I’m blown away by how this event brings families together and makes the holidays brighter for so many children,” said McKernan. “We’ve grown tremendously, and I’m excited to see the joy these bikes will bring to hundreds of kids across Louisiana this year.”

Registration for the giveaway is now open. Parents and guardians can sign up by visiting gordongives.com.

In addition to online registration, McKernan has partnered with local radio stations to
give away bikes through special on-air promotions.

When does the registration close for the Gordon Gives Bike Giveaway?

The registration period for Lafayette, Lake Charles, Alexandria, Shreveport and Monroe will close at 11:59 pm on Sunday, December 1. For Baton Rouge and Hammond, registration rolls through 11:50 pm on Sunday, December 8.

How will winners be selected for the Gordon Gives Bike Giveaway?

Winners will be selected at random and notified on the Monday following each area's registration deadline. If selected for a bike, each child will also receive a helmet, donated by local physicians.
