Youngsville Sports Complex Shows Construction Progress on Awesome New Amphitheater [Photo]
A few months ago it was unveiled that a new amphitheater was going to be built at the Youngsville Sports Complex.
Youngsville Mayor Ken Ritter said that the new theater will hold 2,000 to 3,000 people. He also shared that the theater would feature approximately a 45-foot elevation for seating and there would be a huge stage for entertainment purposes.
So, how is construction going so far?
An aerial photo shared yesterday on the Youngsville Sports Complex Facebook page really shows you how cool things are coming out.
While a ways to go in construction, the elevated "seating" areas that surround the stage make a shape close to a heart.
As you can see in the post, the dirt was repurposed from a drainage project nearby.
In addition to the above-mentioned features, this amphitheater will have a cement seating wall, along with a massive dance floor.
Here's Mayor Ken Ritter from about three months ago showing everyone what the project will look like.
When will construction be complete?
That's always the million-dollar question. It's also one that we have not seen the answer to. Of course, we all know how construction deadlines go, so they could put one out there and not come close to making it.
What we do know is that this amphitheater is part of a huge expansion project to the complex that was announced over a year ago.
The rendering below shows what it will look like once complete.
This expansion is taking place on the city's 46.5 acres located east of the current complex and Detente Road.
Some of the highlights include:
- 4 High School / Collegiate Baseball Fields
- Amphitheater
- Pickle Ball Park
- Cornhole Park
- Jogging Trail / Fitness Station
- Children's Play Area & Free Play Area
- 800 Additional Parking Spaces
- All LED Lighting
- Concessions / Lighting
