There is now one less pizza joint in Carencro after La Pizzeria announced it has closed its doors.

La Pizzeria Carencro made the announcement on its official Facebook page this weekend (Apr. 1), thanking customers for their loyalty while they were in business. The Carencro location (3730 NE Evangeline Thruway Suite F) was located in the North Point Shopping Center.

The owners of the former pizza restaurant did tell followers to stay tuned for a rebrand and a reopening "soon," hinting that a new concept in the same location could be on the horizon. We've reached out to get confirmation and details on future plans.

In the meantime, the closure of the Carencro location leaves one La Pizzeria location open in Lafayette on Ambassador Caffery.

While there have been assumptions (and some confusion) that both locations were under the same umbrella, both the Carencro location and the Lafayette location were separately owned and managed.

The original restaurant owners opened roughly 25 years ago in Lafayette, then opened a second location in Carencro. When the original owners sold, they sold both locations separately—so while both restaurants shared the same name, they have always had separate owners/operators.

The original Lafayette location of La Pizzeria remains open for business and can be found here (below) on Facebook.

We'll keep you posted on any updates on future plans from the owners when it comes to the rebranding and reopening of the Carencro restaurant concept.
