We have all forgotten our water bottles in the car on a hot summer day at some point. If you leave them in your car or in the sun long enough, you may have noticed that they have a strange chemical-like aftertaste. Scientists have been warning us that chemicals 'linked to hormonal imbalances' such as BPA can contaminate the liquid inside the bottle.

Harmful Chemicals In Plastic Water Bottles

New research provided by the lead researcher at Huase Ou supports claims that leaving plastic bottles in the sun creates a 'complex cocktail' of harmful chemicals and carcinogens linked to cancer.

"Our findings provide compelling evidence that plastic bottles, when exposed to sunlight, can release toxic compounds that pose health risks, and consumers need to be aware of these risks, especially in environments where bottled water is exposed to sunlight for prolonged periods."

However, this new study adds to the mountain of research supporting the concern that 'bottled water is not free from contamination.'

Plastic Water Bottles Are So Last Year

Single-use plastic bottles not only pose a threat to your health, but they harm our environment, too. Not to mention, there are so many different options now when it comes to reusable water bottles.

From Stanley Cups to Hydroflasks, there is a reusable water bottle for everyone.
