JONESBORO, La. (AP) — A Jackson Parish woman is being held at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center accused of fatally shooting her husband.

Sheriff Andy Brown tells The News-Star Teresa Jones called deputies Sunday around 6:27 p.m. to report that her husband, Alan, had committed suicide.

Brown said when investigators arrived on the scene in Jonesboro, evidence indicated Alan Jones had not committed suicide.

Brown said Alan had been shot three times.

Teresa Jones was booked with second-degree murder.

It could not be determined whether Teresa Jones had an attorney.
